Custom Error Pages
Find out more about website error pages, when they pop up and why you need to utilize customized error pages.
If you have looked at a lot of websites, you have probably encountered some error message every now and then. An error could take place when the web hosting server cannot process a request (Error 400), if you must log in to see some content and you have not done so (Error 401), if you are not able to access a webpage (Error 403) or if a link leads to a file which is not on the web server (Error 404). Getting such messages can often be annoying since the pages have nothing in common with the actual site. That’s why some hosting service providers allow you to apply your own error pages that will match the design of your own site and which may have any content which you want - information why the error has occurred, a suggestion how to handle it or even some funny comment. This type of feature shall help you keep the visitor on the site irrespective of the error and the reason for it.

Custom Error Pages in Shared Hosting
You will be able to set up custom error pages for any of your domains or subdomains. The function is supported by all
shared hosting plans that we provide, so as soon as you log in to the Hepsia CP and check out the Hosted Domains section, you can click on the Edit button for a domain/subdomain and in the pop-up that"ll be displayed, you could select the type of error page that should appear - a default one from our system, a typical Apache web server page or a custom one. For the latter option, you must specify the URL to the page, so when you use custom made pages, you must upload the files in your web hosting account first. An alternative way is to use an .htaccess file placed in the domain or subdomain folder with a line for each error type. The precise syntax can be seen in our Knowledge Base, so that you can use this function even if you don't have any previous experience.
