A catch-all feature that is activated for a particular e-mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to addresses that do not actually exist. To put it differently, if you remove an email address and someone still sends an email message to it, or to any miswritten address under the same domain, you will receive the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature implies that you will no longer miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be crucial in case you are running a business, for instance. Since you may start receiving spam, you can use the catch-all feature with anti-spam filters in order to get only legitimate email messages in your inbox. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
If you have a Linux shared hosting with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all feature for a certain email mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it will take literally just one click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can select one single address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature straight away, so all emails sent to mistyped email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button for a second time will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply select another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
